Your Wireless Phone.

McGraw-Hill/Irwin is testing its student self-application on new wireless devices, namely cell phones. The educational materials supplier is testing two beta versions of its Study To Go application: Study To Go for Cellphones.
The Study To Go program is designed to enable students to download quizzes, key terms and flash cards to their wireless device. McGraw-Hill/Irwin first released the Study To Go application last year for Microsoft PocketPC or Palm PDA users. The company currently offers roughly 50 titles in the business and economic areas of study for PocketPC and PDA users.
Two beta Study To Go for Cellphones titles are currently being tested by students. The applications are being offered to students free of charge and are available through cell phone Internet browsers. The first two titles correlate with Nickels, McHugh & McHugh's "Understanding Business," 7e, 2005 and Larson, Wild & Chiapetta's "Fundamentals of Accounting Principals," 17e, 2005.
McGraw-Hill/Irwin expects to release additional titles for the cell phone by the time September classes begin.
"The cell phone is standard equipment for many of today's students and this application will add value at no extra cost to the student," says Grace Walkus, senior vice president of McGraw-Hill Education Media Technology.
Earlier this year, the educational materials supplier unveiled PowerWeb To Go, an application designed to enable PDA and PocketPC users to supplement their classroom learning by downloading regular course updates to their wireless handheld devices. The company is marketing PowerWeb To Go as a complementary application to Study To Go.
